Document ordering and status

Documents must be ordered correctly as follows:

  1. Application form.
  2. A4 envelope, prepaid, special delivery rate of 500 grams.

Identity documents

  1. Copy of the first page of Marc's passport; translation not required.
  2. Copy of Nicole's passport (presumably first page too); translation not required.

Civil Status

  1. Intégrale copy of Marc's recent original birth certificate (N.B. this does display the date and location of birth of Marc's parents); translation not required. I doubt this needs to be légalised or apostilled (see Britline magazine Page 12), and the guidelines.
  2. Intégrale copy of the birth certificate of each of Marc's parents and its translation. Not sure if this is required. See original French.
  3. Intégrale copy of French marriage certificate, less than three months old. See Nicole's notes and the French explanatory notes.
  4. Copy of the livret de famille pages concerning marriage and children, if applicable.

French Nationality of Nicole

  1. Intégrale copy of Nicole's birth certificate, within 3 months.
  2. Copy of proof of French nationality of Nicole's parents, ideally Certificat de nationalité française (CNF). See original French. Alternately, one of the other documents will do:
    • Soit une copie de son acte de naissance portant une mention relative à la nationalité française.
    • Soit tout document émanant des autorités françaises, indiquant le mode et la date d’acquisition de la nationalité française (copie d’un décret de naturalisation, d’une attestation d’acquisition de la nationalité française).
    • Soit un certificat de nationalité française (CNF).

French language proof

  1. TCF certificate

Judicial record

  1. Apostille criminal record extract available as a Subject Access Application. Must be apostilled and possibly translated. See original French.
  2. Table of stays abroad, available on page 7 of the information document. If no stay of more than 6 months abroad, indicate "néant" (nothing).
  3. If applicable, criminal record extract. See original French

Community of life since marriage

These documents do not need translation.

  1. Justification of living together in the names of both spouses.
Only the page indicating the name, address and date are required.
For current year and previous three years. See confusing French.
Examples include electricity or telephone bill, joint lease agreement, bank certificate of a joint account with activity, notice of joint taxation, council tax.
