Charles Bridge - 'the most beautiful bridge in the world'
Municipal House - 'don't just go for a concert or an hour in the cafe... The tour of the building is amazing - best value for money...' Namesti Republiky, Old Town
The Dancing Building - Frank Gehry & Vlado Milunic's 1996 concrete & glass confection, nick-named 'Fred & Ginger' because it resembles a pair of male & female dancers, is a refreshingly modern touch amid all the baroque beauties. There's a restaurant at the top with views, La Perle de Prague - but it's pricey. Rasinovo nabrezi & Resslova Streets.
Old Town Square - Heart of the old town including 'Church of Our Lady' and the 'Astronomical Clock'
Wenceslas Square - Huge main central space, more of a shopping street than a square.
Prague Castle - The largest castle in the world inludes St. Vitus Cathedral and has views over the city.
Bars
Casa Blu
U Rodolfina - Classic beer cellar without the hordes of tourists.
Bugsy's Bar - ... seedy but classy... the best cocktail menu I have ever seen... off Pariska near the old town square
Pivovarsky Dum - A brewpub/ restaurant. As well as the usual Czech pilsners, it brews a variety of flavoured beers such as nettle, banana and wild cherry. Stylish surroundings and decent food. Jecna/ Lipova 15
Tretter's Cocktail Bar - 'The best selection of cocktails I have ever seen...' V Kolkovni 3
Cafes
Restaurants
Jazz Clubs
The AghaRTA Jazz Club
Ungelt Jazz & Blues Club

Views

TV Tower - fantastic view of the city. Enjoy the soviet era fun of the space-race-style building and wonder about the strange giant babies crawling up the side of the tower. in Zizkov, a residential area to the east of the city. Take a tram from Wenceslas Sq.
U Prince - Hotel on Old Town Square, across from the astrological clock. Go in the back & take the elevator up to the top, and from there take the stairs up. You'll be rewarded with a restaurant/ cafe on the roof, sporting probably the best view of Prague.
Vysehrad - A small castle at the top of a hill overlooking the city....
Strahovsky monastary - Terrace restaurant/ bar with great views & good food
Museums
The Kafka Museum
Kampa museum - Modern and contemporary central European art
Museum of Communism - 'Best place to eye loads of Soviet era tat'
The people's technical museum

Culture
See Don Giovanni at the Estates Theatre - The building is a gorgeous confection both inside & out. The performances are great, and where better to see Don Giovanni than in the very theatre where it had its 1787 world premier...
Getting around
AAA taxis - The best, most reputable service in the city. When you arrive at the airport, dial 14014; they speak English, will tell you when the car will arrive & where to wait. To the centre should cost around K500.
Airport buses - Service 119 runs from the airport (in front of terminal at far right) runs to Dejvicka metro station, price K12. Ticket machines only take coins. (The Praha Transport authority (DPP) has an information desk in the arrivals hall, open 7am - 10pm))
